I adore the picture and absolutely love you make up work here, as always you are so creative and precise! I can say with no doubt that, now that I am taking my passion for make up to a more serious level, you are the inspiration and the artist I look up to in the more creative/unwearable field. The shapes you draw are so well defined and blended, it just makes me want to stand up and grab my brushes and practice practice practice and let my imagination run free!

Wow, you really amaze me every time with your thoughtful and encouraging comments. I'm glad to see that you're developing a passion for make-up and even more glad to hear that I'm one of your inspirations behind it. I couldn't be more flattered. You do know that I have a fine arts degree as well? The skills I learnt at art school help me immensely with my make-up art and I come at my designs from a fine arts angle rather than from a fashion one. So, I highly recommend an arts course or short drawing course if you haven't already done one that is. Your blending, drawing, colour and design skills will be all the bettter for it. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any mu Q's btw.

You totally deserve any compliment people may give you, and more (: I have taken drawing classes in high school, it was a pretty lame course but forcing me to reproduce a chiaroscuro every week for four years made me a bit more efficient at it. My first love actually was drawing, since I was a kid, while I am a bit zero at painting XD but my passion for drawing led me to photography and now to make-up, where the whole face is a canvas that you have to shade and highlight in the right places, which again my (if small and imperfect) background in drawing helped me understand. As for 'fantasy' make-up, blending and shading may apply as well depending on the effect I look for, right?

Thanks again lovely. Watching tutorials and buying make-up 'how-to' books are the way to go. And you know very well how valuable the experience you gain through art classes are for other areas of your creativity. I'm even thinking of going back to art school to focus on photography and visual arts this time so I can do all my photos and photoshop editing myself. The copyright laws still give photographers exclusive rights over my work even if I organise the whole shoot, paid them and got them to sign declarations. It's a real legal loop hole that needs changing. I want to exhibit some kickass ideas I have but I want full legal rights over these ideas and work, hiring a tog to take the pics gives my ownership rights away regardless of whether they had any creative input or not. By law they get to own the photos and do whatever they want with them... that law needs changing as I said. So the alternative is to do it all yourself. Which you can do now, so you're one step ahead of me.

Well a couple of MUAs that I know started taking pictures themselves just because of that, resulting in very high quality images after a little practice... I guess a background in a different visual art develops a good eye no matter what, so yes I do really advise you to try and take pictures of your work! It is a shame that the photographer gets to own it all, even when all the effort put in one picture comes from the model or the MUA, even if they paid for it all!

Yep, it's just how it's been for a long time now and no one seems to care to change it. Putting it in writing in a model release form helps with legal matters a lil bit... but not much with the law as it is now. Anyway, you're all good now you can be a one stop shop, saves you money by not hiring a MUA, hairdresser and stylist too. It's the way to go these days, people are getting harder and harder to deal with. Saves you lots of headaches and drama too by doing it all yourself.
