Labyrinth.
Belated hommage to David Bowie. Labyrinth used to be on one of my favourite movies as a child. Much to my shame, I hadn't watched it in over 15 years when David Bowie died. When they aired it on TV as an hommage to him, I realised how much I've missed that movie without even knowing it. Bad costumes and acting appart, the Labyrinth is a cunning movie, joyfully irrationnal and mercilessly logical, that takes the watcher away to a magical world of insanity and wonders. Sure, considering that it was aimed at a younger audience, some parts of the movies where kinda dubious, but what of it? At least that movie was not an empty vessel for shameless consumerism, like most children movies are nowadays. Not unlike artificially flavored candies, children's movies nowadays are all about distraction and sweet-tasting, empty morals, but offer very little in terms of imagination.
