I agree about the high contrast, BUT I love B&W pictures as opposed to color because our eyes see color all the time. It's like watching I Love Lucy or Andy Griffith (before they went color), it's something different for the eyes to see.

I like the idea of this photograph, but I think you could've used a more interesting angle.

Also, I don't think high contrast does much in this case, as well as the black and white. My way for figuring out what I take in black and white or what I take in color is, "Will b&w do something for this picture that color can't?" If it doesn't, I usually don't take the picture in black and white.

However, I don't know what this would look like in color, so I might be wrong. I dunno.

Anyway, I like the way the model is posed, and I loveee the piles of books. I know they were probably vital to the idea behind this photograph, but they add a nice touch.
