After Moka was rescued from Mokari. Rika returns Machi's old Derv shoes she lost when she was kidnapped by her evil mother.Rika: Here, Machi I think you'll be needing these.
Machi: My old Derv shoes! I thought I lost these.
Rika: I kept them for you. So when we rescued you, you'd be able to help us against Mokar...I mean your Mom.

i think machi's shoes would amplify her magical ability's to make her even stronger. but they only really work for her. also machi knows how to use both pairs of living shoes to the best of their ability's as well she had the most time with them.
