Ref sheet commission for Enaxn of her fabulous blue kitty SWITCHBACK! Who is the main star of TheLastAysse as well as the Silva-Magna and AcrossedWorlds comics! 8'DHaha, I'm going to sound a bit like a fangirl here, but I was super honoured when Enaxn asked me if I'd do Switchie's refsheet. Switchback has been a favourite OC of mine for a very long time, and I felt very priveleged to be the person to draw her refsheet.
The style is a little more realistic than what I'm used to because I wanted to try and draw her closer to how AnneFace usually draws her. I looked at a ton of reference photos, which is a rarity for me, but I feel that I learned some things in the process.

I loved doing those expression shots at the bottom! Switchie's such a versatile tiger! Oh! And there's a lovely big version available to download for all the little details.

THIS SHEET. It turned out SO SO WELL. AHHHHH SO SOSO WELL. I seriously have absolutely no idea why I didn't ask you to do this sooner because I FINALLY HAVE AN ACCURATE REFERENCE FOR MY MAIN CHARACTER AFTER THREE YEARS??? FINALLY. Finally!!!! AHHH.
It looks so good. SO GOOD. Everything is so perfect. I love your refsheets so much. They're so clean and uniform and omg they're PERFECT. I remember when I first saw them and I didn't know anything about Stroke and I actually thought that you wrote everything and then actually traced around your letters to get the stroke effect. And I was in AWE. I'm STILL in awe, but not about that now, sorry <___<.
HER FULL BODY SHOT IS SO PRETTY. I love her chipper face and her LOVELY little pink pawpads and YOU DID THE SPOTS SO AMAZINGLY. OH MY GOD. They look so pretty and natural and I LOVE it!!!! And her legs get dark in JUST the right places. Oh my goodness. And her fluff. SO FLUFFY. SO PERFECT.
I'm SUPER glad you added that behind-the-ears shot. It nicely showcases her notch AND shows those little eye spots!! Which have always been there, but you'd never know because HEY I've never put it in a refsheet <__<
ALSO THOSE DERPY LITTLE EYES LOOKING AT HER EARS. BECCA. UGH. UUUUUGH. BECCA. And the ear notch. DIVINE. AHHHH. And they're all shiny and fun LOOK AT HER EARRINGS. And you shined that ring SO so well. Omg give me all of your skills. BECCA. AHHH.
And you know how much I love that face markings shot. Like from the baby doodle I've loved that shot. She looks so bright and cheerful and I am just most absolutely in LOVE with it!! I love her round golden eyes and her big smile and that small NOSE. UGH. Plus the stripes all look perfect and HER CHEEKS ARE SO FLUFFY. SO SO FLUFFY.
AND HER HAPPY CKAZZ SHOT. Omg they're the most precious children. Look at his happy FACE!!! And I love his gigantic EARS. AHHHH. And he has the biggest shoulders and the littlest butt and Switchie's just like 8DDDD being a damn fool and I LOVE it!!

EXPRESSIONS.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Omg. First of all I LOVED the doodle versions of them because they were HILARIOUS. I would absolutely have been okay if you had kept those. HOWEVER. THESE ARE SO AMAZING. I love LOVE that chipper expression and how it shows her nose stripe. And the "uhhhhhh" expression. SO GOOD. That's, like, the expression she's making 99% of the time anyway so I am SO GLAD it made it into the refsheet! AND SUCH A FUN ANGRY FACE. Omgomg you did so WELL with it!! I love all the little nose wrinkles and how you can see her big ol' teeth. And I love how happy she is omg look at her pretty FACE!!! She's so chipper. And I LOVE it. She's so chipper and fluffy AHH. AND THE LAST EXPRESSION. I LOVE IT. It's so smug and slappable IT'S THE OTHER EXPRESSION SHE MAKES 95% OF THE TIME. Omg I'm so glad I have you in my life because you understand how obnoxious and expressive she is. Omg. Oh my god. Becca. BECCA. These are PERFECT.

OMG I’m still so excited and so HAPPY you like it! Ahhh! This was so much fun to do I don’t think Ic an ever emphasise JUST HOW MUCH 8U
LOL! I have a confession to make… I used to not know about stroke either… What I used to do was select my magic wand, untick “contiguous” whatever that means select the text, then form a layer behind it, expand the selection and fill it >___> When I discovered Stroke I was like “OMG I’VE BEEN AN IDIOT FOR SO MANY YEARS AHAHAHAHA!!”
Though I realise now I haven’t used stroke on this ref… Haha, I think the text looks better without it… the white outline gives me a bit of a headache >___> Once i finally learned a good way to do it, I decide I don’t like it anymore… That sounds familiar in a few aspects of my life lol.
UGH. The faces were so much fun! It tickles me you liked my dumb sketchy headshot as well despite them being super rubbish |D Hah! I’m so pleased with myself that I looked up refs to make her look more tigery, but still kind of toony C: I’m so stoked you like them all 8’D
