Featuring my lemonade-themed punk, Leslie! i drew this when i visited nafisah in San Diego- it took me all year to get the nerve to watercolor it lol. I carried this thing around in Dyemelikeasunset 's backpack so much it got creased in the corners- noticeable in the bottom left hand corner. It felt like I was in high school again, carrying my work around…!!! It didn’t really turn out exactly how I imagined, but I love the bubbles anyway- I want to do more- maybe with less concrete ideas/visions, so it can become whatever it likes.
This is sort of a revamp of an old picture , but it changed so much that it became more of a fond nod/homage than a ‘draw this again’

oh honestly that's such a good idea! i was aiming for east asain and someone had suggested a half japanese celeb for a face inspiration that i really liked--- so hawaiian/japanese is perfect! i know you were just guessing but thank you for the suggestion!

Ugh I love the details and how the bubbles came out!! The lemon-themed jewelry is really cute too; I want those earrings so bad???? Like wtf?? And her hair is so wavy and whimsical, it makes me wanna draw hair so badly ;w; so pretty I s2g... you're putting me in a watercolor mood but I have no watercolor paper so I'm internally rotting!!!!!

ahhh thank you!! i'm so happy with the bubbles! I would SO LEGIT wear earrings like that, i've sorta lurked around for some before... maybe someday?? +__+ i am sorry you don't have any watercolor paper!!! wahh!! it's pretty easy to find some for cheap at local stores though, if you do decide to!

The lineart, the way the watercolors blend so well (like, I feel like that's one of the most frustrating things to learn about utilizing watercolors, but you're handling it so well now). I just. !!! Ahhh! //flops on the floor out of joy
And I love how you utilized the white paint (or whiteout? could work the same way). and how you worked with the transparencies of the bubbles and the eyeliner as well (with the cute little dots) and the way you utilized the pink lemonade theme in a lot of the accessories. ////////
I'm glad you have the courage to finish this with watercolors. I'm trying to gather the courage to do so, as well, but it might be a slow process for me//// (you also reminded me that I need to get colored inking pens soon /adds on the list of art supplies
Hopefully we'll be graced with more traditional art from you. ;o; I'm curious to see how you'll continue to improve.

Your traditional work is always as gorgeous as your digital <3 I love to see you experiment with different mediums.
