Description
One of the first big things I drew in the toned tan sketchbook I got for christmas. While I was in Utah I bought a bunch of great inking pens too, so hopefully you guys will be seeing more standalone traditional ink pieces like this! The purple, sheer white (not the pure white, that's gel pen), and skin tint were done in photoshop however, I could only afford one copic marker and it wasn't used here LOLLucy is cute spooky Korean witch with shadow powers~ Unsurprisingly, she's in the same universe as Ji-Yoon, my portal/space magic-user. Lucy is actually a really really old character design I randomly decided to necromance back to life and totally revamp because I wanted a character with hairbuns. 8( Also, apologies if the Hangul is kind of sloppy looking... ( ´// ▽ //` ;; )ﾉ

Wherever you look, wherever you go,
you've got a companion never leaving to and fro,
windlike, silky texture as a breath, sometimes you can see it, sometimes it jumps into the glow,
knowing every movement of you, sometimes its the star, most times the background dancer,
the shadows, when you and this friend of light come together in the melody and beat, you even forget a scorching summer heat.

One of the main characters for this story I'm trying to write has shadow powers too P:

lol yeah shadow powers are very popular but i dont think its too hard to limit them a little bit imo! there are ways xD

For me it's a bit more difficult because I want to try and give it a logical scientific premise for existing.
Something so that when people read how it works, they'll be like "That actually makes plausible sense"
So it's a little more than just limiting it xD

I was already really fond of her design when you did your initial sketches last year, but this illustration really drove it home for me. It's rare for me to like dual-bun hairstyles on East Asian girls, but the mischievously sinister feeling of this picture offsets it in and is such a cool dynamic overall.
I love seeing your traditional pieces, especially with those EFFECTS man. DANG. Thanks for helping to inspire me to do more traditional too!!

Argh!! I usually would avoid the dualbun look in general for asian girls because of the weird connotation it has, but something just sorta clicked about it on her, I guess? ://( I definitely wouldn't wanna make a habit of it though. I'm so happy the cute mischievousness balances out!!
