Edit: Her name is Mew Olive now!Behold. My guilty pleasure. My beloved Fan-mew. She's gone through various designs. But this one is final. This one I absolutely adore from head to toe. She's come a long way since her first version.
I love Tokyo Mew Mew. I love magical girl stories. I love this drawing. I love this character design. I love the lineart, the shojo style, the color scheme, the animal I paired her with, the background I made with brushes... every fuckin' damn part of it. I tried my best to make it as Mia Ikumi styled as possible. I think I did a fantastic job, but yet, you can still tell I drew it. TMM was my first ever Manga I owned, and it's special to me. Don't be hatin'!
@______@ I'm so bubbly right now it isn't even funny. Drawing this as well as other fanart makes me REALLY happy inside.

She's so cute! The design is very unique, but it is instantly clear that she is a fan-made mew character. Also love that you actually did research to find a specific species of deer and the thought that you put into her name. Very well done!

I actually think it's an interesting name. I see a ton mew names that are either very common or not even food. (I'm guilty of that because several times I've run out of ideas and ended up just using the names of the animals instead

Ohh, you poor thing! Don't give up! Choose the color of the mew in question, then begin a search of foods that are in that color range, or could be taken as that color. Obviously the over-abused foods like Cherry, Blueberry, Lemon, Peach, Raspberry... I'd vote to keep away from those. But once you pick a color, use their animal to help narrow it down more; if the animal/character's personality is a little sour or mature, avoid the cuter sounding foods in that color range. Process of elimination, really! :3

I've been working on developing a team of mews during the past few days and I just uploaded a sketch of them into my scraps, they're far from done though, but I'll keep on working on them. It'll be fun to see how they turn out in the end. And you're right, it is a lot easier if you do one trait at a time.

I've taken more than one ride around the Mew-sue block, and I was determined to make any mew I created as original as possible, yet staying within limits and avoiding things the original Mews had.

Hmm, a Mew-Trade would be fun, if you're up for that. I like how you draw your mews. I'd be happy to draw any of yours, they're all cute. I can give you a fullbody chibi outfit picture for my mew, since this one is only a waist up. I'd color my half in the same fashion as I did for Ivy if you wanted to color your half, too.

I read all the Mew Mew books in one summer, that one where they were still being published xD I tried to get into the new one, but they've only got one volume out...

Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode has two volumes out, but that's where the series ends. I shake my fist at the company that urged her into that, because it really left the entire new plotline hanging. D: I own them anyway, of course. >_>
But not getting into them won't really cripple you, as long as you know who Mew Berri is, anyway.
