I have no idea what corrupted Twilight so much, or why they're fighting but I absolutely loved drawing it. It was so fun! Thanks so much for the request!

Suddenly, a man -wearing black outdoor pants and a neon yellow athletic shirt- bursts from what seem like purple rose pedals, grabs Twilight, then bursts into rose pedals again with Twilight.
Celestia, quiet and sad like: "I hope he's not too late, I don't want to loose Twilight."
28 minutes, 7 seconds later...
Twilight flew back, still corrupt, and tackled Celestia hard.
Celestia, beaten: "But, why? Why bring this destruction, this pain, this misery?"
Twilight, with trailing evil voice: "Because I Want MORE! I'm Not Corrupt, The Ponies Are Corrupt! They Have Brought What You, NOT ME!!! I WILL RULE THEM, AND TEACH THEM WHAT I HAVE LEARNED FOR THEY ARE DAMN FOOLS!!! ALL Will Bow To ME-EHGH!" the man snatches Twilight by a chain, yanks Twilight over to him, then headlocks Twilight.
The man: "And I'll Teach To Do The Mario 'Cause Your Jimmies Seem Rustled!"
The man then rips off Twilight's horn, Stabs it back into the side of her head, then snaps Twilight's neck. As Twilight's neck snapped, all the evil energy in canterlot vanished.
The man, to Celestia: "Don't worry, she'll heal after five minetes. My work here isn't done though, see you 'round!"
the man walks away, and jumps off the castle.

Well, FINALLY Twilight gets all that pent up anger out, how many times has Celestia foisted problems in Equestria on Twilight? The things that a ruler should show the common decency to at LEAST TRY to handle on her own?
And not hide behind her subjects? Not to mention the art is good too, I mean I take in the finely crafted art for sure, but this one sure does convey a strong message.

This made me wonder how Celestia would be affected to have multiple students and her sister become corrupted. Can't be good for the self-esteem I imagine.

I don't think she could. She's not connected to the elements as of Nightmare Moon's banishment. And if Twilight is possessed, her friends can't use the elements either. So she might be in trouble. o.o

Celestia send Twilight to crystal empire to test her, but Sombra won, took over empire and corupted Twilight. Now her teacher must defend herself against her own student, while feeling guilt for putting her student at so much risk in the first place just to test her ( maybe if she bothered to let Luna tag along or come with Twilight herself, it would not happen ), a punishment for carelessly taking risks and manipulating her subjects ( the gamble not always pays off ).

She just likes pushing her students, I guess. I dunno. She seems to have a plan, usually, though.

My favourite is Cadence as she actually helped mane 6 in royal wedding and crystal empire, unlike Celestia and Luna who are always useless ( and in season 4 first 2 episodes they were captured effortlessly, but how could those branches grown so far from everfree forest to Canterlot, pass mountain, stone what Canterlot is build on and countless walls and floors, more or less why hauling alicorn to everfree forest not left any clues for guards, should not there be like alocorn shaped holes in walls, floors and mountain itself. Also, what about teleporting, shoting laser, levitating those branhes away or simply using strength, Applejack cut of a giant branth with a window ).
I also felt that to show everyone that Twilight becoming alicorn does not make her OP, they actually underpowered her. What happened with her barriers, teleportation, levitation strong enough to lift Ursa Minor, she seemed almsot useless at some point, kind of made me worried do they will not make her useless just because she is alicorn princess ( as unicorn she would never end up in troubles so many times ).
Because of this, Cadence remain as my favourite princess, and it may change only if Celestia, Luna or Twilight will prove themselves in season 4 ( I know that Celestia did really well against Nightmare Moon and Discord in the past, but it just make it worse. In the past they were epic and now they are useless ).

It's Discord's weeds, after all. I think a better question is, why COULDN'T they traverse all of that and take down the alicorns? That's what they were meant to do in the first place, based on the flash back. They were probably storing power up until then, just biding there time. Hard to say.
And Cadence is awesome. I was so torn between her and Luna when she first came along. Still love her too. But I just....prefer the deeper emotional struggle that Luna had to overcome and still fights with. I also just like her personality. I think she's cute. :3 Cadence is awesome too, though, don't get me wrong.
I think Twilight will be fine, though. I feel like the first episode was more meant to show us that she is indeed struggling with becoming an alicorn princess and that it isn't as easy as Season 3's finale made it appear to be. She has a lot of new stress on her plate and SO much more to learn. It's almost like starting over from scratch, relearning boundaries and such.
Either way though, this picture was fun and the idea of her losing herself is interesting. :3

I'm guessing that it's either a nightmare Celestia is having (not sure when she would sleep, or how she managed to do without much of it for 1,000 years), or Chrysalis in disguise (mentioning her since she still may be at large if the comics aren't considered). If the latter... that dialogue would... not... be... pretty.
Overall, believable and dynamic body proportions, poses, and orientation. The wings add nicely to the sense of motion, and add to the expression on their faces (which are also very vibrant).
Listening to "Divide" by Disturbed matches this scene scarily well.
Anyway, interesting concept.

At least on a personal level, this pic was taken notice of since neither Twilight, nor any of the other characters, question Celestia a lot on actions that would likely warrant it. Granted she is a princess with high authority, but it just seems too much is negated. I like the character for who she could be (and part of who she is), mind you, but also think that there needs to be some improvement in character development (we need not see how powerful she is necessarily, just more of how she is as a person and less an ideal).
Anyway, glad to see the feedback was appreciated.

And I agree. Celestia is almost god-like. I'm hoping Season 4 shows more of her everyday pony side. First episode showed more personality and even an inner struggle that got me all excited! Can't wait for more! :3

I was actually convinced for a while that Celestia was pretty much beyond character development by this point. From what I've been hearing about season 4, I may be wrong on this (I hope I am, as a character with a good heart like that, despite questionable (even manipulative at times) actions, really does deserve better development).
I don't want to be specific (may be too controversial if I am), but there were actions in season 2 and 3 that suggest that she may genuinely have some social problems. Pretty much her definition of a good plan and a good idea, even if working flawlessly, still has a strong effect on other characters, and may not be all that positive. Having her ideas possibly being at odds with reality at times, in other words. A character, who is a non-villain, able to point out the reasons for those convincingly may be an opportunity for development. That is, pretty much even with necessity, Celestia pretty much being made more aware of what some of the deeper needs of those she employs are.
A strange thought just occurred. Not all of the above may be Celestia's doing alone. Based on "A Bird in the Hoof," Celestia actually told one of the characters that she would have preferred being asked why some parts of her behavior came off as strange. If she would be that receptive to feedback, this actually might be a very open door for her to get closer to, and better account the needs of, the main and side characters. That would be indeed be welcome development.
Wow that was long.... and off topic to the piece. I just noticed that there are spikes on Twilight's hoofs. Interesting visual take on what is occurring.

S'okay. This all spawned from the art, anyway. I am hoping to see further character development. Really I am. And, after the two part opening episode, I'm optimistic that we'll see it happen.
