Description UF4.

One of this weeks homework.

We had to use modulated iterations as masks. I also added a mask layer of orbit traps.

A stunning fractal, I love the 'rusty' look of it, and the wonderful details too

Fabulous shapes, great colors and amazing textures. This is a wonderful example of what Janet teaches in that class.

The deep reddish browns and gold are perfect foils for each other. Dark and mysteriously beautiful!

That is equally as important, to have fun, and to learn, and create beauty to share with others! You gotta love it!

It is different, mainly due to the restriction of using the Harlequin coloring formula.

Uhhh... I'm thinking here. I don't what the heck a modulated iteration is but I better find out. This is absolutely amazing. It's making me weepy. It's beautiful. I think your teacher will give you an A+++.

Confusing, I know but it's just a way to 2 different textures on 2 different areas. Thanks so much for the comment!

globalpuffer In reply to Beesknees67 [2007-03-25 16:20:50 +0000 UTC]

Ohhhh. Ok, I've done that before. I just didn't know what it was I was doing. Perhaps, you could share with me, which formula produces that particular texture???

Beesknees67 In reply to globalpuffer [2007-03-25 17:35:50 +0000 UTC]

The biege texture is SFBM II in the sam.ucl with these parameter changes: Noise function: soft octagons, Flavour 1: Cut, Flavour 2: String-Sharp. I then distorted it by using Turbulence (mt.ufx) mapping.

The maroon area is actually 3 different textures.

The first one is SFBM II: Noise function: soft octagons, Flavour 1: String-Sharp, Flavour 2: Sharp.

The second is Gaussian Integer (standard.ucl) with these parameters, Integer Type: Round, Color By: average distance (with the bailout value on the Formula tab changed to 1e10), Normalization: none.

And the third is just a duplicate layer of the biege texture.

All layers use the Overlay merge mode.

Hope that helps.

Kim

Thanks so much...we were limited to using the Harlequin coloring so it was a challenge finding a good composition.
