I think , to me at least, the only thing that needs to be kept from the first image is the ear size. Other wise I think he looks awesome. His ears could just be in positions to no t look large though, so I apologize if that's the case lol.

Do you mean they look too thin? Because then yeah its the positions, if I drew it facing forward you'd be able to see those big silly ears fully. but thats my fault haha
