Nice idea, but you could use some work on the execution. Your animation is smooth, but it really needs a loop, or at least a longer pause between the end and restart. I suggest having the two walk off screen a the blue one walk back from the left to start drawing (and thus make a link from the end to beginning). Another thing with the animation is your characters seem a bit lifeless 
Your bases are shaded with gradient, which is ok, but I suggest you look into pixelart/hand shaded styles of bases in the future, since it just looks way better (in my opinion
