Riqq was born from a rich, powerful family and has two younger sisters, though he doesn't discuss his past very often. Not because he disliked his past, but because he doesn't see it as relevant anymore. At the age of 18 (preteen in his species), he decided to leave home and, with the blessings of his community, has been on the move ever since. Even though he's currently 25 (approx. 20 in the species), he still very much has a more gullible personality. He is kind-hearted, very naive, brave, unusually well-mannered, patient, hard-working and organized.
Though he often speaks in short sentences, there's a certain charm to Riqq's language. He speaks Common, but has an unusual accent, which usually shows in random, high-pitched whirring and whistling noises. He also uses them as exclamations (ex: when startled). Riqq's higher education led him to specialize in blessings, wards and charm-making. Riqq has very few material possessions; his species doesn't draw energy from food and his religion encourages simplicity. His only permanent possession is a simple, porcelain bird charm, made and blessed by his youngest sister, which he keeps on a ribbon necklace tied around his thigh.
Riqq's skin texture is similar to clay: heavy, a bit malleable, cool and somewhat moist.
Though he may look a bit menacing with his long, dark hood and emotionless stare, Riqq is pure in his morals, and, unfortunately, assumes the same from everyone around him. "A man threatening to shank me? A lost soul! Offer him a hot meal and a place to sleep. <3"
His family is very religious, so he chose to travel to seek inner peace, though not through spreading his own religion, but through gaining his own knowledge and experience. Riqq hops around the world, volunteering in whatever way he can, whether that's helping an old lady cross the street or rebuilding homes hit by natural disasters or working at soup kitchens. These last 10 years has been a bit trying for him in his faith-- Riqq is very open-minded, and he's seen many others are happy and successful without his religion or philosophy to help, which startled him especially in his first years. Through uncertain times, Riqq, being the pure child he is, finds peace in meditation and prayer. Sometimes, when he's deep in meditation, you can almost hear a clear, deep note in the background.

tl;dr - Riqq is a nomad with an innocent heart. Also his neck is long.
