Description
These are Ekichoumon (bird) and Mukugemon (sloth thing). Ekichoumon is pretty much a straight ripoff of Zazu from The Lion King, although I think I was going more for toucan/tropical bird than hornbill (his ultimate level was supposed to be Parrotmon). Mukugemon's partner was a quiet, shy kid who got pushed around by the other kids, so Mukugemon tried to teach him to stick up for himself and toughen up. I liked their relationship the best out of the ones I made up, and Muk was my favorite of my OC 'mons.MORE HEADCANON INFODUMP, continued from part 1:
In the end the kids and their digimon succeed in sealing the bad shit, but only partially because the seven of them aren't -quite- strong enough to fully contain it. Some of their digimon die, I think all of the kids end up being killed in the final battle, and the remaining partner digimon are various levels of fucked up from the constant strain of evolving unnaturally and losing their kids; Nagamon and Ekichoumon evolve permanently to Megadramon and Parrotmon respectively and more or less go feral - they're the Megadramon that wound up serving Machinedramon and the Parrotmon involved in the Highton View Terrace event. (I can't remember what the in-story justification was for Parrotmon ending up in the real world to begin with.)
After all this goes down, Team Gennai reconvenes to do some more planning, because the evil thing is going to need to be put down for good someday. They conclude that digimon are actually a crucial part of this saving-the-digiworld thing since they can use human emotional energy to evolve much faster than normal, and decide that this process would be easier and more predictable if there was some sort of...device...to channel and control the energy exchange. They also note that the kids exhibited certain personality traits (the leader of the group is responsible and trustworthy, another kid tries to keep the group together by being friendly and kind, another one is headstrong and brave, etc.) and figure that this might be important too, since the digimon responded really strongly when these traits were most prominently on display.
They also realize that seven just isn't enough and think that throwing another kid in there might do the trick.
