is the A7K for the J6K like the F8F Bearcat to the F6F Hellcat?

Sorry, but I'm not sure to understand what you mean.

And aren't you "dizzyfugu"?

OK.

In this book (the first volume in fact) Pacific war ends earlier.

After the war (second volume) japne needs reorganisation: politicaly, economicaly, militarly (birth of the IJAF).

The A7K is not replacement of J6k, but replacement of the A6M and the A7M (which is not ready and unable to take-off from a carrier). A6K are progressively replaced by evolution of the Ki-84.
After that, the denomination system of japanese aircraft change and other aircraft wil replace the existing aircraft.

From my eyes, it looks like a naval adaptation of the J6K fighter aircraft. So the IJN would designate it as the "J6K1-A," then again, what is done is done. Also peering off from the tail codes, it is of the 343rd Kokutai piloted by Lt. Naoshi Kanno, but it operated from land bases. Air groups that operated from the Taiho would have to be the 652nd/653rd Kokutai, with tail codes "52" or "53", and then ending in the one hundreds (52-106, etc.)

Nice work too. I also want to render this into the realm of pixel art for Shipbucket, but it costs money. (it hurts to not have any in PayPal)
