Bael is very selfless, and has spent his entire lifetime caring for his 'people' (the other dragons) and acting as a protector, due to this he's got the urge to protect, nurture, and care for others. Official Backstory: Bael was born in a time period where dragons ruled the earth, the sky, the sea, and just about everything else. He was created, and born to control all bodies of water, and to be a protector of other dragons, or A 'Guardian '. He has chinese scrolls dedicated to his giant dragon form - crushing ships and drowning sailors who threaten his waters, shrines dedicated to him with statues and offerings, and legends about the giant beast in the sea that protects its domain. Bael symbolizes peace, prosperity, and hope in the east, thus he'd always settle wars and stop the other dragons from fighting before it became catastrophic.

At some point, there was a period of a long serene peace through the land, and he remained submerged under the ocean until years later when hunter's found his location, and dragged him out of his long, meditated sleep. Confused, and angry- he was able to fight back before he escaped their grasp. Turning forms and flying up above the clouds- he circled for a while, making sure the dragons he shielded for years were safe and hidden. But the hunters set up camp near the shore, and there were too many to deal with. So he went to search for another dragon, preferably a guardian. Unfortunately all he's stuck with his fucking Mocah LOL

He gets caught in a hunter trap, and ends up meeting his future bb Oli- who sets him free. :3c In MORE WAYS THAN ONE HAWH. His only friend. They bond and overtime get more of a stronger platonic relationship, minus Oli has feelings for him and Bael is more-- oblivious to that sort of thing, and naive, he needs things spelled out for him. He's torn between his duty and Oli at one point, and tells Oli to convince him to stay. Cute shit like that.
