I had to take a quick break from projects and do this bit of inspiration, because I think that any one of us that has a relationship with God struggles with this very thing: Waiting for his time.

For quite a while, I've been looking at myself, shedding old habits and making new ones, doing my best to listen to what God has to say, to watch for his answers, and yet at the same time, I want to move forward and do things. I want to reach the place I want to be, become the person I want to be, and yet there are times when it seems that nothing is happening at all, like time has stopped.

And it's in moments like this that I have to remember that God's timing is better than mine, and he knows exactly what needs to happen to me in order for me to become not just what I want to become, but what he wants me to become.

In so doing, even when things feel stuck, even in the darkest of moments when the tears won't stop, God doesn't leave us to face it alone, and uses even pain and sadness to shape a person's character. All I, and everyone else, have to do is wait patiently. It's a simple concept, and one of the hardest things to do.

In waiting, I remember that I'm not here for myself; I'm here to be a light for Jesus Christ, and he'll give me the patience I need if I let him.
