Actually, some of the original tales of unicorns were of quite evil, murderous beasts. They had glowing red eyes and wouldn't hesitate to kill. It was only around 16th or 17th century (I think) that they got their current folklore of gentle, peaceful creatures. It's an interesting evolution of the mythology. Check it out some time.
