Description Animated pixel iMac. I was bored. *shrug*
Done in three and a half hours in GIMP 2.6 pixel by pixel
Bonus points if you can guess what all the dock icons are.

Want to see more computers animated? Give me some suggestions. Really, anything! I might do an ISMAI 8080 next.

Fair do's Though I think hate it too strong a word but bleh...
I'm the exact opposite of gamer. I don't play any games at all except for the Ratchet and Clank Series. It was the only reason I got a Playstation 3. xD

well, your probably some one who would get work done before enjoying games, honestly I am the opposite... but everyone has an opinion on how to do things should get done and what to do with their free time...

In my free time it's either TV, Music (as in producing it, not listing), drawing or going to my Local Ski slope.
The reason why I don't play games is because they are all so uninteresting. Played one halo clone you've played them all. :/

Macs do have viruses. Anti-virus exists for the system and Apple recommend you use it. Mac's, especially in the UK, are becoming increasingly popular. It's only a matter of time until people start writing masses and masses of malware for the system. Though the Macintosh is more secure out of the box with it being UNIX based and therefore has UNIX security in place. You'd be surprised how hard it is to hack a Mac/UNIX computer.

You're the first one to get iTunes funnily enough.

No firefox, no final cut, no word.

well that's better than some people's pay! i'm in college and not supporting myself, so i have a fairly low-paying job... it'll be a couple months before i can even afford an 8GB iPod Touch.

but at least you got your computer and have some pennies to eat

That's the problem with America... your cheapest College fees are out most expensive. College in the UK is free, it's University that you have to pay for and you can't get into University without first going to college.

Doctor-X17 In reply to Ben-Anderson [2009-10-21 18:35:47 +0000 UTC]

i think one, if not both of us, is confused here...

in the US there's about 16 years for a normal education. gradeschool is the first 8 years, highschool is years 9-12, and college is the final step, years 13-16 [excluding special programs that are faster or take longer.]

but schooling in general is expensive if it isn't public school... the public schools here are funded by tax money, and then tuition is free. there are some public highschools, but most are private. then colleges are almost always really expensive... but it depends where you go. the college i'm in is a smaller campus but it's a part of a bigger school, so i'm commuting and getting a good name on my degree.

it would be nice if it was all free...

UK school system;
Primary School:
Reception (year 0), year 1 and year 2.

Junior School:
Year 3, year 4, year 5 and Year 6

Secondary Education:
SAT level = Year 7, Year 8, Year 9
GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) level = Year 10, year 11

You finish secondary education, typically, at 16.

College (optional) Free to young learners (19 or younger):
Years depends on course(s) taken but is typically two or three years. I was at college for 4 years over two courses. You can come out of it with A-Levels, HNC/D (Higher National Certificate or Diploma), GNVQ (General National Vocational Qualification) or a BTec National Diploma.

University (requires college education):
Anything from one year to god knows how many, but typical degrees are three years, four if you get a job placement in the third year and cost £3500 a year.
I'm only at University for one year as I did a HND in Computing previously at college so the first two years of university are not needed. I'll come out with an Bachelor Honors Degree in Computer Applications. I'll be 21 when I finish my education. University is funded by the government for everyone and is given out as an interest free loan and you have 25 years to pay it all back. After 25 years it's written off and you don't have to pay it back anymore.
After my Honors degree I'll be doing a Masters Degree (optional but requires a previous university degree) at the same university, unfortunately these are self funded and Cost £4225+
After my Masters I'll be 22.

holycrap... i'm not sure if you're talking in Euros or Pounds, but either way it's almost 3 or 4 times more expensive for me per year at a less expensive school here... and it can take 4-5 years for a Bachelor of Sciences or Arts degree, then anoter 4 years or so for some Masters degrees...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ben-Anderson In reply to Doctor-X17 [2009-10-21 19:17:42 +0000 UTC]

Master's degrees here are basically an entire three year course squished down into 9 months of intense, supervised self-study. Very demanding work but worth it for the salaries you can get out of it.

I'm talking in £s as it's the currency of the United Kingdom.
£ = Pounds
€ = Euros

You'd think with all those years in study American qualifications would be worth something outside of America. PhDs are still worth loads from America but American Masters and Honors degrees are worth next to nothing in Europe.
In the words of my father - "Because their qualifications are crap" - European qualifications (esp. those from Britain and Germany) are worth a fortune in the USA. An American employer would jump through hoops to get a person with a European Degree or Masters.

it does seem that people with European degrees are smarter than some American doctors... damn it ><
