Description This was my first attempt at Chainmail. I don't know what this pattern was called, but I just saw it in a book and decided I had to try it I made it for my husband to wear, but I need to get a lobster clasp0 for it first (he thinks the toggle is too feminine lol).

Made from Stainless steel jump rings 1.2/7 (what ever that means, it was on the package), they just lookde like they'd be the right size for making a bracelet Made from about 150-175 rings, measuring 7 inches long (not counting the clasp).

Elf weave was your first chainmail weave?? Goodness. I started myself on European 4 in 1. Man, after getting this one, you should be able to do just about anything. However, for future chainmail needs, I suggest this website-- [link] --for any materials you might want. Very reliable and cheap in comparison to other places.

Thanks I actually started following another pattern, but it mutated because I was doing it wrong and it became Elven. I made a brass version for my friend (not pictured. Please browse my gallery for some of my other chainmaille and wire wrapped creations

This weave looks alot like Elfweave (in its squished form) a very difficult weave for a first attempt props to you for getting it done

Thanks, I did later find the pattern online as Elven. It was actually a mistake on my part because I followed the pattern wrong lol. I loved the way it came out and yes, it was pretty hard for a first time mailler

You say you followed the pattern wrong?

I can't see where. I've made lots of elfweave, and turned it into a sheet like this so it doesn't squish up like yours.

So yeah, everything looks fine to me. Good job on getting this hard weave done.

Upon looking at the full size for a bit... Yes it is Elfweave.
