But it was worth it I'm sure. I find backgrounds repetitive to do but I like the effect it gives the overall pic.

i agree. cos i didnt used to do backgroungs but now i choose images with interesting or complex backings.

Yep and they definitely work. I'm kinda new to the background thing. My brother encouraged me to continue doing them after he saw my first attempt. He said he liked the fact the drawing went from edge to edge, like a photo. I usually do soft focus backgrounds and intend to try more complex ones soon. It takes patience, which you obviously have.

i prefer my other josh hartnett backgrounds. one of them was tricky cos i had to use a ruler! but i liked the pool table.
but the other was fun cos i got to draw a fan!
