This is the first part of a project I worked on last week. Featuring Caroline Madison:
You can view the second part HERE ツ
Update: Following several questions, let me explain a few points: I think Caroline's silhouette stands out more without the black lines on her body. Furthermore, the black paint I used was different and a bit toxic so I didn't want to put it on her skin. This image is only the first part of the project, the second part becomes completely abstract and a bit wilder... Certainly it's not recommended to cover your skin with paint repetitively, I first tried on several parts of my own body, no pain, no irritation... Caroline didn't have problems either. Acrylic paint is water-based so the majority of the substance is not toxic. Acrylic paints with cadmium can be harmful because of the heavy metals they contain. I use acrylic WITHOUT cadmium. Finally, Caroline is an exceptional model. She is a serene, passionate and determined person.
The above picture and other images from the "Flesh and Acrylic " series have been published in The Sun and The Telegraph in December 2011.
Prints of the above artwork now available!

Making & detail:
For the Sun Is Red
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
For the sun is red
...And day is unclear
In summer's color bled
When blooms are near
Your heart was still
With the rising sun
Of tomorrows fulfill
In life times on run
For her blood is red
In its own dripping way
In deep oceans bed
Where her billows play
With its beating time
Of the restless sea
Tides of weak and prime
Inside you will see
For love as aforesaid
In everything it need
Like sea bloom dragonhead
With lustrous fruits berried
So much of infinity truth
Of love and love making
Its bosom of unsullied youth
Never in love aching

This picture jumped at me immediately! and i quickly made it into a favorite. I guess it can be interpreted in many ways; I see it as: Here is a wall, I will try to blend in. I feel that the sky background takes away from the picture, as i am expecting the sky to blend in too. However, the sky background also bring some majestic to the picture; it creates an illusion of "the sky is the limit." is that why her arms are extended? she would have blended more if her face was green. I like it. Great job.

I chose these colors on purpose, mainly because these are some of my favorite ones. Thanks for the feedback anyway!

How to make a rainbow-corner interesting and artistic? By putting a naked girl in it...

I wonder how did you (or she) remove the paint from her skin? I paint in acrylics sometimes, but it's pain in the ass to remove it from my hands, if it dries. I can't even imagine being covered in acrylic paint from head to toe!

Camoflauge fail, but, it's still pretty kool. Hey, reminds me of a children's book! lol "Stripes" of something like that.

An absolutely perfect image from concept to execution. I wouldn't presume to change a thing. The artist knows what he wants here, and he got it. Perfect as is.

i'm so tired of artists using nipples to push their art. is it really necessary? other than that i like the camera vs pencil stuff

It actually is kind of necessary for her to be naked in this photo. If she were wearing clothes, it would ruin the image that she was exposed, trying to blend. Plus, clothing would hide part of her body, thus ruining the effect that the artist intended with the full-body paint. And this is an extremely non-sexual photo.
So, is nipple pushing (for lack of a better term) necessary? No. Is this nipple pushing? No.
