Timothy Robert McKenzie, A.K.A. "timbox129" A.K.A. "timboxreloaded" is an individual that has a rather unhealthy obsession with Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, dinosaurs, and pretty much anything related to animator/artist Genndy Tartakovsky. In past years he's written articles on a site called RetroJunk, in which he'd tell about his dreams of developing some Dexter's Lab/Samurai Jack hybrid movie by the name of "Dexter's Odyssey" (included with dinosaurs, of course) and anything on the subject of an animated movie he'll end up writing miles of sentences for, just for his thoughts on the film. Often he'll photoshop an image of a cartoon interacting with another, or just put himself in with an image. if you remade the series, i wouldn't be surprised, because it's rare that a remade series could even have the possibility of doing better than the original. the new teenage mutant ninja turtles is successful only because it throws in references of past series and movies that came before it, but it needs clever writing and plots that will not only take interest to the viewer, but follow what was originally in the source. so in conclusion, it needs to take a lot to surprise me.

Well, my bad. I think had I not mess up with a classic cartoon such as Dexter's Lab, then maybe the "Dexter's Odyssey" that might ultimately be made from my mind may actually be very different to the "Dexter's Odyssey" I first conceive. I wanted my own Dexter's Odyssey to be an exclusively live action epic adventure project about a highborn noble prince from a faraway land destined to live a life of adventure, told in the grand great tradition of the comic strip Prince Valiant, perhaps, but also timeless, ageless, and place-less, taking my highborn noble hero across an entire, diverse, multi-cultural world with plentiful of anachronistic elements from European knights to Ancient Roman Legions to Mongol Hordes to Japanese samurai, etc., and it may also be filmed in both Panavision widescreen and IMAX, but also extensively storyboarded from start to finish.
I also wanted my Dexter to be different than Showtime's Dexter Morgan or Cartoon Network's Dexter; while the Showtime Dexter is primarily a serial killer and the Cartoon Network Dexter is a boy genius scientist but also an arrogant shut-in, my very own Dexter can be, again, a highborn noble prince from some Norse-inspired kingdom, who, like Prince Valiant, is destined to live a life of adventure. Remember, Dexter is not just the name of a cartoon boy genius or that of a serial killer, but the name Dexter is an actual male name and also a Latin name (Latin being the language of the Ancient Romans).
As for the Prince Valiant comic strip, I think it could be one of the inspirations for the ultimate, final, finished shape of Dexter's Odyssey with which I would be satisfied:

So all I had to do is to hone, tweak, refine and perfect my ideas for Dexter's Odyssey until it will reach the ultimate, final, finished shape and form with which I will be satisfied.

I am not one to destroy people's dreams, but dreams that involve making a 12-part movie saga based on a cartoon that has ended 10 years ago and is clearly not making a comeback anytime soon is where I draw the line.
