Description

I had some time to draw over the past few weekends, which was nice. I was inspired by a very beautiful young woman from Bangalore I found on Instagram to try to recreate her likeness. Unfortunately, I fell short of the mark as usual. The proportions are way off, too, with her head being too big for her body. I worked primarily from memory, however, I did consult her pictures a few times during the process. Not while drawing, though. I would take a break to look at the pictures and come back with some mental notes to correct the drawing.

It's a very simple sari she is wearing, and perhaps too small. I've never drawn one before and don't have the skill or patience to draw elaborate patterns in the fabric. I started trying to draw the large, elaborate earrings which she might usually wear with this kind of outfit, but they didn't look right, so I erased them and went with the simple ones you see.

It's an OK drawing, I guess, just not as beautiful as its inspiration.
