What a surprise! This is literally one of my favorite shows! It's incredibly funny and heartwarming. I agree with some of the other posters that Jay and Alice made for a great couple.

I love season 2 better than season 1 because of Alice.

If you're talking about the fact the show was cancelled in 1995... I don't really know, it's a shame! That was one of the funniest animated series I've ever seen (nothing to compare to Family Guy or other crap...)

In early 2000's, The Critic returned for Webisodes on Shockwave.com (they don't show them anymore, but you can see them all on dvd), and in the first one Jay mentions a second divorce, presumably from her or the Mexican woman he married in order to get to Cuba, either way Jay & Alice did not last.

I think the webseries was just a futile attempt to reanimate the original show. Maybe it is ok that they stopped it, because today a possible "come-back" could easily destroy its savour and its simplicity.

The cartoons out nowadays just can't compare to that classic. ŠP

Oh, is that where Jay Sherman is from!? I only know the character from the Simpsons.
I love the art. It's really well done. And I learned something too! lol

Thanks a lot. You really should watch that series, it's fantastic!! That jazzy music reminds me a lot of "Everybody says I love you" by Woody Allen or the classic Gershwin's pieces. A very funny, not-vulgar series (it makes me laugh so much...)
