Tags show gmod and garrysmod, so I'm sure it's both, although I'd like higher polycount for SFM versions if possible. Honestly not sure the limitations between Gmod and SFM.

Now that you mentioned tags, I noticed them. Usually I don't check them.
But it makes me wonder, does it mean that all the pony themed addons that are done and used by almost all by now, are going to be redone, for these possibly new models? Just wondering.

if/when this model is finished being ported and tested, those that want to support the new models and artstyle can probably go on and make the assets they'd want, such as TF2 themed clothing, props, etc. Most non-body oriented objects, such as maps and background props can be used alongside these models. Just apparel would have to be rebuilt from the ground up, as it's always easier to start from scratch, rather than editting older models to match and fit the new ponies.

True. Still, I think it would take a lot of work, to redone all (or at least most of these) addons, to work correctly, with the new models.
And if I am not mistaken, this might be not a good news, for the addons/model creators.

As good as this model is, I can't say that I want to see it happen. We've got more than 80 percent of all ponies already made with the current models (which are perfect; no need to waste time and blender on new stuff. Ain't broke, don't fix it.), along with HUNDREDS of side projects/accessories/props/etc.
It's taken us this long to come this far. This will make us start all over again, and the shit from before is something I don't want to go through ALL over again.

You realize that one can still use the old models. They're great quality. This would be a new artstyle to work with. We have the regular models combined with different AO techniques to make regular shading, flat surfaces, silhouette, cellshading. Those are all different styles. This adds a new layer to work with if one wants to, as it gives more options to work with.
