Wow, this is absolutely stunning, I am still trying to learn how to make a head, but I still can't quite get it. I am very impressed by this and I hope I can get as good as you are now. c:

He turned out looking great!
Looks as if you'd done some historical research, didn't you?

Thanks.

Yeah, I made some research here and there, but I'm not going for complete historical accuracy.

This is freakin' awesome! You've nailed it so far! are you done yet or do you still have more to do?

Beowulf71 In reply to superhippieman [2011-09-12 01:41:30 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I still have some little tweak here and there, I'm also planning on doing a background, probably some snowy terrain, I'm not sure yet.

Snowy Terrain would be perfect in my opinion, keep up the good work!

This is amazing! How long have worked with blender?

Beowulf71 In reply to Rebeccannoying [2011-09-11 22:55:17 +0000 UTC]

A bit more than 3 years (on and off), but I still don't know enough for my taste, I've only scratched the surface.

Well if that's scratching the surface then I can't even imagine what you could do as an expert! Do you have a background in other 3D art programs that helped you pick this one up so well?

Nope, none at all.

Well I looked through your gallery and you're a brilliant three-dimensional artist Do you use sculpey for those figurines?

Beowulf71 In reply to Rebeccannoying [2011-09-15 06:16:24 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

I used mostly Super Sculpey, but my Conan is made with Super Sculpey Firm, and I also made a couple using Aves Apoxie Clay.

I also got into Scupley recently, but I only have the regular kind and I have so much of it I would feel wasteful buying more XD

Sculpey or Sculpey III?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Rebeccannoying In reply to Beowulf71 [2011-09-22 01:41:39 +0000 UTC]

Just plain Sculpey. It's actually not too bad if you put it in the refrigerator for a while, but I took a bronze casting class and after working with wax the softness of Sculpey tends to be rather frustrating

Beowulf71 In reply to Rebeccannoying [2011-09-22 02:54:34 +0000 UTC]

Sculpey is the worst of all. Sculpey III is a bit better, but Super Sculpey and Super Sculpey Firm, are way better to work with.

So I've heard, and I'd love to get my hands on some! I wish it wasn't 15 dollars a box though

You can always buy only one brick, to see if you like it. I'm sure you would be able to do great things with it.
