Description This scene is always annoying me. Kili here, Kili there and even if Fili is in danger, he is called Kili!
RA said, that he couldn't tell them appart. But please, they look so different. They are no twins or something like that.
I wonder why nobody realised that Thorin said the wrong name. It's even wrong in the German synchronization.

But still I love the movie and just had to draw the scene. I like Orcrist! xD

---

NOTE: This is drawn in my old style, which means I drew it by hand, scanned it in, made a selection for every color (even the lines) and filled it in. It was made using a mouse.

Thorin and Kili belong to Tolkien

Other Hobbit art by me

Since I like Fili more than Kili, I just couldn't ignore that. xD

...and I agree with you about giving Fili a bit more attention. It's such a chliché, giving the younger child more of it.
I'm the youngest of four children and at least I can't confirm that.

Hehe, I' the oldest of three and I was always responsible for everything. xD
I think the problem with Fili is that in like half of the first movie he's played by the "old" actor. Let's hope that he isn't in part 2 and 3 too, because they filmed everything at the same time.

Changes from family to family, I guess.
Yes, I thought that, too. You still can see the original actor in some scenes in the background.
As far as I know, he just filmed some of the early scenes before he left. So there shouldn't be any reason to pay the "new" Fili a bit more attention in the next movie.

Ah yes, I noticed that, too, it really irritated me.
It's not only copied wrong in the German version; as far as I know, Richard Armitage, as all the actors, dubbed many of his scenes later, and nobody noticed it there either.
Poor Richard; no memory for names and poor Peter Jackson; apparently no ear for names...
But it happens in every movie.

Yes of course this happens in every movie. I just saw this one so often, that I realised some mistakes. (Also ropes, which shouldn't be there, a teleporting sword and Dwarves trampling on their weapons. xD)
Actually this is good, because it reminds me, that actors and directors are just humans too. ;D

Yes, I've seen some mistakes, too. The Hobbit is the movie I watched most frequently in cinema...ahem.
And it irritates me that there is never blood on the swords, no matter how much they use them (Aragorn was full of blood all the time).
There were quite a lot bloopers in LotR, too. One of my favourite ones is when Eomers sword is falling from its scabbard while he rides away. Didn't notice it before I watched the movie many times.
There is no perfection in life, is there?
Indeed - but I probably get a heart attack if I'd meet them, though.

Yes, I totally agree. xD
If I don't return to dA next week, I died of a heart attack because of the HobbitCon. I'm so excited about seeing a big part of the cast there.

The HobbitCon in Bonn? I'd love to go, but it's on the wrong side of the country from my point of view...
By the way - you're from the German speaking part of Switzerland, aren't you?

Well, it's actually pretty common to make such a mistake. It happens to my dad very often. He calls for me and when I come, he says: "I meant your sister." and vice versa.

But yeah, that annoyed me as well. You would've thought somebody had realized Thorin said the wrong name. Apparently nobody can tell Fili and Kili apart xDD

Yes, you're right. But still I wish that Fili will get some more attention from his uncle.

Recently I read somewhere that even Peter Jackson and Aidan Turner (Kili) didn't know, who was who.

Oh my gods xDDD Damn you Tolkien for making the names so difficult to get right! xD

And yeah, I wish Fili would get more attention too. Maybe in the next movie^^

Maybe it's because Tolkien himself couldn't decide who is the older one. In the Hobbit book Fili is actually younger, but in the appendix of LOTR their birthdates say that Fili is older. No wonder, that everyone gets confused about that. xD
