Description
Jesse Faden from Remedy Entertainment's Control binding the NES Object of Power.
UPDATE 12 Sept. 2021: alt. version colors looked flat/muted, new version has colors and lighting tweaked in PDN for livelier looks.
UPDATE 15 March 2021: replaced the "red" version of the original upload with an alt. version of the render. Original "red" version is still here: [link]
FYI, the NES Object of Power is not an official OoP from the game, but an idea I came up with for this render. Besides, there does not seem to be enough Control fanart out there, so I decided to correct that.
Here is a mock "Case File" in the style of those found throughout the game that I wrote down for this Object of Power:
Nintendo Entertainment System with Zapper Light Guns (OOP24-KE)
CONTAINMENT PROCEDURE:
Must be contained in a cell lined with laser shielding materials when not bound to a user.
DESCRIPTION/PARAUTILITY:
The object is a “Nintendo Entertainment System” 8-bit video game console consisting of a NES Control deck with two detachable NES Zapper light guns plugged in. The light guns were found to be impossible to detach from the Control deck.
When bound, the object allows parautilitarians to emit from their eyes beams of energy which have the appearance of red light. Such ability is regarded to all extent and purposes as being equivalent to the “optical blast” ability observed in a number of specimens of Hiss Distorted Agents (refer to file [REDACTED] for full report). The beams will pulverize durable materials such as rock and concrete on contact, while organic materials will suffer burn damage.
The object is currently bound by [REDACTED].
BACKGROUND:
The Bureau became aware of the object when authorities in [REDACTED] were dispatched to the residence of Mr. [REDACTED], a collector of vintage 80’s toys who claimed that red laser beams emitted from the light guns caused serious structural damage to the building, setting on fire tapestry and draperies. Agents sent to investigate on location arrived to find the building had partially collapsed as a result of damage, but they were able to retrieve the object from the rubble without incident and contain it in a laser shielded container for transportation back to the Bureau.
The object has been placed in a Fortified Unit of the Panopticon, pending further studies in the Research Sector.
