Description A resin model I bought. I can't remember the manufacturer. I don't know anything about the character except I understand that she's from some strange Japanese computer game and she's a vampire. I just liked the figure.
I painted all by hand; no airbrush.
1/6 scale kit (about 10 inches tall).

Thanks! I'm really glad every one likes this. I find it kinda difficult to get really light skin tones to look right. My shading usually ends up too harsh.

I know exactly what you mean, do you use an airbrush?

No, not at all. I don't even own one. I outlined my technique in an earlier reply to SkinnedRat's comment. (I shade with oil pastels)

Wow! Great paint job. Love the shading on the clothing!

What kind of paint did you use?

I use Vallejo liquid acrylics. The shading was actually done with oil pastels. I get an old stiff brush, load it up with pastel dust and "paint" in the shadows. The pastels actually stain the paint with pigment. It kinda gives it that airbrushed look. (Note that this really only works on larger figures.) The highlights were drybrushed on. Also, I play with finishes. I usually spray the whole piece with a flat lacquer and then brush on matte or gloss where appropriate (e.g. the boots and eyes). This just gives the piece more texture.

Too much info?

Nope! Not TMI Great summary! While I use an airbrush for most my work, and chalk pastels for some shadings, sounds like we use a lot of the same methods!

Thanks!
It was interesting trying to get the colors and textures right. It also makes a nice contrast with her overall cuteness.... heh.
