I really loved the drawings and surreal setting a lot as a kid. It was a lot of fun too give this wonderfull story a dark and more surreal twist.
Hope you like it!
Making of:
I rendered all the twirls in 3ds Max.
The tin man was made by bits of metal texture photos.
The wooden twirls were made by bits of wood texture photos.
rest is photomanipulation and a lot of brushwork.

Hi berthjan,
This is the best I have seen yet! I am looking for talented artists such as yourself to create a range of surreal 'all over' sublimated die shirts. If you are interested please contact me at samuel.hoysted@gmail.com. Of course you will be compensated for your skills $$
Kind Regards
Samuel Hoysted

Would you mind if I used this idea in my Oz-based comic? Because that's one of the best things ever *u*

Amazing job! I like this setting for the land of Oz, and the character designs. toto as rearguard, lol.
I like the twisting beanstalks with bushes growing out of it, and the little sea caught in the vines. Very nice work, definitely a painting I would like to go into.
