Description
I wanted to make a new reference sheet for my dear character Crescent because the other one is so out dated. This is what I have so far. Its been so long since I've done something fully of crescent. Comparing this to I'd like think I've come a long way. I hope you guys will continue to support me as the years go by and I hope to see more new people as well. I know that I'm not the best but I feel I have something and I don't want to give up on it. As well, I won't give up on cres shes like my baby in a way and I feel bad for neglecting her. I needed to improve myself and I will continue to do so. I don't know how I've been able to get from where I was to where I am now. But I do know that its mostly because I believed in myself. I don't have much support to rely on unfortunately. I am thankful for the support I have from my fiance. It helps. I hope you guys enjoy looking at my art as much as I enjoy doing it.if you like the art support the artist commission sheet: rar1990.deviantart.com/art/Pri…

Crescent definitely looks like one mean gal, should anyone rub her the wrong way. I love the shapes and style of this work, the empty (almost Tron-like) teal lines outlining her set her apart. (I cannot remember the term used to make text pop out more in art/works, please forgive me.)
A very creative design with a scythe/sickle, You don't often find any these days that are as understated as this one.
The biggest impact I feel, is the link to your original work on Crescent, showing how far you've come as an artist. It is definitely a long way, and Crescent deserves this. Beautiful piece.
If I could suggest a future work: Maybe have the 2009 and 2013 Crescents hanging out, showing how you've come as an artist, and really unify that into a single work.
I have no idea if that is feasible, but I think it would really show your love for her.
Beautiful work, definitely recommended.

Ofcourse I want more. Feel free to critique any of my recent work that are critique-able that you desire. Although I find this critique to be more praise then anything, but I'm ok with that too. I will continue to say that if you are going to write a critique that does pick out things wrong with something be sure to suggest as well how things could be done differently. I mostly say this because I have a bad history with DA critics. I have also given up on them because of their quick to judge and inability to teach tendencies. I can vent on and on about what makes a good critic but that doesn't matter. On DA everyone is a critic and critiques are just long comments. So say what you want, but lets have an understanding. If an artists made a mistake most of the time its not because they didn't see it, but because they don't know how to fix it. This is why its important to help improve the artist rather then bring them down. Doing so could also make them give up on art. This is something not just artists deal with but everyone who is in a job that has people judging how entertaining/pleasing to the eye something is. Its not easy being an art critic because although anyone can say what doesn't look right it takes some insight on how to fix it. So if you don't know how something could be fixed please say so. That way people don't take hard offense to nitpicking. Sorry if this is a long reply, but I'm very picky about critiques. I believe that in order to give good critique a critic should understand some of the processes that go into the artwork, even if they are unable to do it themselves. Otherwise they are blindly nitpicking at work unaware of the artists vision and trying to replace it with their own. This can also be seen in reverse with blind praise, but this is ok because it encourages the artist. So in conclusion, when in doubt encourage.

That's kind of what I do. I don't know a /lot/ about art, but I do know some. (tone, lighting, theming work, etc) and while I can't always evoke those words right away, I try to encourage and give constructive criticism.
That being said, I have felt like some of my critiques were pretty high on the scale, but then again I've seen some FANTASTIC art that people have done.
I point out the things that work, and sometimes try to find something to improve upon or be used as a stepping stone.

Wow, what an improvement. I love the color scheme you used for her (and her background). I also like the improvement with her hair, it looks much better in this work. Looking forward to seeing the completed version!

While definitely a better piece of art than the previous version, I'd hesitate to call this a reference sheet - an introduction at the most.
From what I've gathered, a proper reference sheet has clothed and nude front, side, and back views of the character with a labelled color pallette.
All that aside though, the art itself is fantastic.

If you notice the title says WIP that means work in progress. And the description says "This is what I have so far.". I'm glad you like it though.
