Cotton is a popular game in Japan. The arcade version was release on 1989, than on the home consoles in 1993 and so on. The only thing they recommend it's on TurboGrafx-16 (or PC-engine) because it's has an arrange music which is awsome.

It's called Cotton. It's a 2D side scrolling shoot em up game. It's a fun game I guess.
The only version they recommended is a PC-Engine (Or TurboGrafx 16) because it's has an arrange soundtrack. Hope this helps.

But good luck affording a North American copy AND a Turbo Duo. The Neo Geo Pocket Color version over in Europe is cheaper. About a hundred bucks or so.
