Description
I actually made this as directions for a commissioner who bought an acrylic painting from me (Stretching the image himself to save on over-sea shipping costs) as a guide to put a frame together. I thought I'd go a step further and just share it with everyone else as well. This is the way I build my frames for my paintings.
Most supplies I get from home depot; Painters cloth, and the wood to make the frame as well as the nails/screws/wood-glue/white paint I use.
You could also probably make your own trim using a router. I have not tried that yet.
Hope this is helpful to someone!

Oh nice!
Oh, I forgot to say in the tutorial, that after you apply white paint to the canvas, it's probably a good idea to sand it a little, otherwise the surface is rough and uses more acrylic/oil paint when working on it.

I haven't been making too many as of recent. I have a few old canvases lying around so I've been using those.

Quite helpful, although the process seems a bit intimidating when you only have one shot at this!
Thanks a lot for sharing!

One shot? If you're unhappy how you've stapled it onto the canvas, you can always take it off with a flat-head screwdriver and pliers. It's a pain in the butt though.

Well, I meant that there is always a risk to damage it and everything, and I didn't know that you could take it off afterwards! I am gonna be mega anxious when that time will come! ^^

It's not that hard to put a canvas on a frame... unless you don't use your hand muscles much, they may hurt from the stapling and pulling.
It's a pain in the butt taking the image off the canvas though.

Well, that's good to hear! I am the kind of people who can mess up putting stickers on their handlet device though!
I am just mostly stressed by the idea that I could do something horribly wrong and end up damaging the art piece!

Try not to think to hard about it.
I'm sure you will do just fine!
