Description
After unpacking her small suitcase, Ada disrobed and put on the pale green evening dress that Mags had laid out for her. Now that she was ready for dinner with her former mentor, she decided to go down to the woman’s study so she could have a quiet moment to herself. There were thoughts that needed sorting out before the food was served. Placing her hands on her hips, she took a moment to look out the mansion window and gaze upon the beautiful scenery before her. What should I do? Ada thought to herself. That question had been plaguing her ever since her escape from Raccoon City.
Wesker would be expecting her arrival in two days with the G-Virus in hand. Instead of showing up early and providing a pleasant surprise for her boss, Ada decided instead to take a detour and pay a visit to her instructor. After everything that had transpired during her mission to acquire the G-Virus, she wasn’t in any hurry to see her benefactor unless she absolutely had to. Right now she wanted a day to clear her head.
Mags had been happy enough to see her and insisted that she stay until her meeting, however her former teacher had enough intuition to know that something was bothering her. The woman had asked what it was, but she had skirted around the question by telling her that her contact was dead. While John's death had been upsetting to some degree, the excuse seemed to pacify the woman’s need for additional details.
Still, that wasn’t what was really bothering her. Her mind was conflicted concerning a rookie police officer who had saved her life back in Raccoon – Leon Scott Kennedy. Slowly removing the small slip of paper, she opened it with her fingers and looked down at his email address she had gleaned from the internet. During the drive here Ada had been warring with herself over and over again on whether or not she should contact the man to let him know she was alive. While the decision to leave him in the dark concerning her fate had been easy enough back in Raccoon City, now that she had more time to think about it… she wasn’t so sure.
The two of them had been through hell together, and for some reason she had felt herself drawn to him. Would it be too much to let him know that she was alive? It would mean a great deal to him – especially given the fact that she had died in his arms.
But the question was – what would he do if he knew that she was alive? Would that be enough for him? Ada closed her eyes and sighed at the truth of it all. No… it wouldn't be. She had connected with the man and knew all too well what his response would be. He would try and find her regardless of the danger.
Unfortunately, Wesker had made it clear that he was displeased with the fact that she had helped Leon. What would her benefactor do if he found out that the man was looking for her? Wesker wasn’t one who tolerated loose ends. He would either kill Leon or use him as leverage against her, and that was something she couldn't let happen. Regardless of how difficult this decision was… she had to be the one to make it.
Slowly walking over to the fireplace, Ada crumpled up the slip of paper in her hand and gently tossed it into the flames. Standing there, she silently watched as the paper slowly uncurled before turning orange and then to black ash. This wasn’t what she had wanted, but if keeping Leon in the dark about her fate would keep him alive… then that was what mattered most. In the meantime, she would need to deal with her boss and make sure that his intentions for her protector were nothing more than empty threats.
If they weren’t… well… perhaps it was time she went her own way.

Now that I think about it... Did you name Mags after the District 4 mentor of The Hunger Games series? XD
I still think you should write about THG. Seriously.

Well, I do appreciate that, Icy. Not sure what I could write about from that series...? I already did that short one-piece from "Condemned", but that series doesn't motivate me like RE does.
I'll take a closer look at it after I'm finished with Vengeance.
