This is a perfect example of the kind of photography I absolutely love. It's beautiful, strong, and intriguing when looking at it not thinking about what it is, but when I start wondering what it could be it adds a whole new level of interest.
The way you decided to take this picture of a hammock has perfect composition, with the lines going back and some of them curving. It really draws the eye in and keeps me looking.
The only thing I can think of to improve this would be to up the saturation a little bit. It's beautiful, but if the colors popped a little more I think you could make more of an impact. They seem to fall a little flat right now.
You captured the texture perfectly as well, I love that I can almost feel it just by looking at it.

Thanks for the critique! I did try making the colors more saturated on iphoto but it made the oranges and reds look neon and artificial.

First of all, when I saw the image in small size; I thougt it was a painting.
Then when I read your description, I knew it was a photo.
But when I saw it and read the description below, I could feel the warm naps of my chilhood.
Sleeping in the hammock. Here in Argentina, we call de hammock "hamaca paraguaya".
What I like also, is the visible texture of the fabric. This and the colors, are the most beatiful elementes in the picture.
