Description
This is what happens when I attempt to color a sketch.Key word is attempt, and originally I was just going to leave it sketch wise...but for some reason I wanted to add some color and I couldn't stop myself.
Anyway, someone I know from FA was feeling a tad bummed out so I doodled their little mini bot character, Jinx. Push came to shove, ended up throwing my own "kid" bots in the mix...caffcaff.
Bleakstar (spikes on his helm, not hair! Supposed to look like a punk skater kid with a whirly gig beanie, rofl) poking fun at poor Jinx for being, well, so short. Femme kid I dubbed as Bellwire, big'un does not have a designation as of yet. Mostly because this is the first time I designed the two other kid bots in Bleak's posse who have been running around in my crazy land for a bit now. Colors are subject to change for them...considering TF can come in a wide range of colors (Skittles, taste the rainbow!) anyway, I just kinda vomited out these and hoped for the best.
I'm still contemplating perhaps inking it to make it better refined, but of course I can say that now, and look at this omega pile up I have on my HD...and then cry about it.
Ah yup.
Gave me some practice to poke around with another conceptual idea with some other young'uns. I'm sure one person will get that, lol.

Only ones I have are those two, but I will get a better ref of her down along with the others at some point. I just have so many i'm trying to deal with at once, guh. She needs more life, that is sure.

no inks! i honestly like when your stuff looks sketchier a little better. the colors already match the style of the colors (also... a little sketchy). all of your tf drawings have so much emotion and character in them. it really brings even your simple sketches to life (though this isn't exactly "simple" that's for sure).

D'aw...I don't know, i'm so OCD when it comes to things like this- I had to keep stopping myself from wanting to ink it the farther I got along with the colors. It's mostly because I've got this thing with like wanting things to look fluid, but I do like sketches, just I never know how they look to others because i've been told I can do some pretty wonky ones where stuff is lost. Or something. Blurgh.
I'm trying to refine it where I can make the lines not as clunky, hopefully it's a battle I can beat. With a stick.
And thank you very much! I love that Animated brought that to the TF, despite a lot of people not being that big on the style - though a lot of the comic book artists who do it too(the over exaggerated expressions) are a big influence on what I try and mess with as far as emotion goes. Lately though i'm starting to like crawl into a more detailed and "blocky" look, well, for the good 'ole boys anyway. Lol I guess i'll eventually get some of those down. Ugh I hate getting too many ideas and not getting them all down. @_@

sometimes i ink my stuff after making a rough/finished sketch and then soon after thing "i liked it better rough". lol oh well. though a lot of the time, so long as i can make the image out clearly still, i prefer rough sketches a bit more to finished ones. it seems like there's more power in the lines. er... something like that.

You are right, but it might look a lot better in pencil then the horrible scribbles I usually end up putting together with my tablet and SAI...lol. I put a lot of ferocious intent as I poke around with images, though at the moment it's kinda kaput which makes me growly over all. ><;

LOL, nopes, he is not. I wanted to put speech bubbles but in the end I just left it as is.
And gosh, it took me awhile to finally get them all in order- I can't even begin to go on about how many poses I put Bleakstar in until it finally came together at that point. I will have to draw them all like, ref wise sometime...but that goes for a lot of characters I really want to do but take forever to do, argh.

Hehe, I need tooooo. ARGH...so much reference. At least i've been making some use of this sketch Book I have and trying to jot down ideas and thumnbails for when I do larger images.
And lol, I agree with you there, seems like it was waiting to be found. XD
And the big kid is one of Bleak's posse members who is at the moment still nameless. Someone suggested a name for him, but in some cases I kinda wait til something like, pops to me and "feels right". He's a big 'ole soft spoken kid though, I guess I like to play around the effect that they aren't all what they seem. lol

Personally I don't think it needs inking, it looks awesome the way it is. Sketching than skipping over to coloring definitely gives the picture a pretty sweet effect

I can understand where you are coming from in regards to worrying about how a piece looks. It's a universal fact that the artist is their own worst critic. Still from where I'm sitting, you have little to worry about when it comes to your art. I think it looks fantastic and I always enjoy logging in and seeing a new piece from you sitting in my message page.

Yeah I think all artist go through what you are feeling at some point, I know I have and still am. Still, I think you'll be able to overcome them just fine all in good time. Like I said before, you are extremely talented already and are only getting better with each piece you create

Haha, yes. Well, Bleakstar likes to believe he's a punk, the rest not so much, especially the little guy.
And yes, that is Bellwire. I went google searching something with Bell in it that related to TF, just to make sure I was messing with a name that wasn't all ready used or something - and viola. Found out Bell wire was actually used for real electricial transformers, so it stuck. LOL
Jinx is my friend's OC. He's a little med minibot - all of them aren't very big compared to the standard "adult"...well, except for big'un in the back. lol
