I had a chance to go see Coco a few weeks ago and really wanted to do a tribute. I won’t post any spoilers for those of you who haven’t seen it. But I think I can say that it has one of the most beautiful smiles of a character that I’ve seen in a long timeRelated content

SPOILER!!! * when abuelita smiles and starts to sing at the end...omg I couldn't hold the tears. It reminded me so much of my grandma. One of the most beautiful smiles in a movie.

In a way it's such a juxtaposition. I'm an animator too and I feel like I kind of have experienced that struggle from both sides It's not like as an animator you enjoy people being sad, but you want to do justice to the scene that you're given and if you can actually touch someone with your animation and make them cry, that's such an amazing feeling. Like you did your job well and you touched someones heart with your acting and art.
But if you would boil it down to "I made someone cry....YES(jubilation)!!!! ", it sounds so macabre lol.
