The dark purple red glowy substance was an kekkei genkai once feared for its unique ability. However the clan was for most part slaughtered before the founding of the five great nations. The clan was once located where Suna’s center is located nowadays.

The kekkei genkai was poisoned based and said to be the founder of all poison nowaday which can be found within Sunagakure.

The red hue which surrounds the poison was used to poison the opponents chakra network. This could happen in just mere seconds which would corrupt their opponents chakra. This corruption soon led to the infected dead.
