I think I understand the concept??? But not why they are a closed species.
but literally I cannot differenciate two waterdogs because they are just an alternative to a single design, constantly being redesigned xD
And if you slap 'rare' on it, they suddenly are worth 100$ more!

Exactly, they're all the same just different colors. 
They honestly shouldn't be a closed species.

I've been meaning to publicly speak up about the unoriginality and whiteknighting of waterdogs but i am but a humble anxious person so I will just shut up and let people bid on these dogs haha xD

I just kind of feel like its taking something so commonly used in characters and making it a closed species, therefor just restricting it from everyone else. if its an element, it probably shouldnt be in your closed species..

gosh I am glad someone understands!
People have been leaving hints very subtly saying things like this shouldn't go for 300$ I've seen famous artists bid on waterdogs like MAD because they want one. also, they have been posting 'water-dogs' ever since dA was created? Like I don't understand why people are so interested in designs that ALL look the same and have the same colors. I've never been capable of telling waterdogs apart so it's just like selling an adaption to a single design over and over. It's just ridiculous

Yeah, things with any element have been here longer than those dumb species, people just buy stuff/species if the art is half decent! Closed species owners basic-ly say "if you wont pay 1000000000 points for this then gtfo cause you didnt think of it first" and clearly, alot of people thought of it first! they do all look the same! a waste of my time and points. i'll make something based off water if i want, and i dont care how much they complain and send their little fans on me, This idea was pretty always there before they decided to make those terribles adopts of their species oc and yell at us all "donut steel!" i say Nekois, Water Dogs, and 'Sushi Dogs' are all bull shit in my book.

Sushi dogs are food dogs, they are based off any food, and yes, they are all chibi.
They are obivously a closed species, the reason you thought they were just dogs with closed eyes and a scarf is because food dogs were here way before the species existed. You must have thought it was just a food dog character you were seeing, nope, Kawaii desu closed species.
