Frank quietly made his way to Pascal's Bakery for work. He was glad he got to come so early, avoiding the noon rush. He was surprised to find Sam still wiping down the floors inside. What in the world could she be doing here? He walked up to her, to which she didn't notice.
"Hey. Earth to Sam?" he asked, after not getting her attention. She jumped at the sudden noise, then glanced up at him with an embarrassed smile. "Erm.. hey. Didn't realize you'd be here so early.. hehe" Frank gave her a small smirk, then responded.
"To be fair, I didn't know you'd be here at all! your debt is more than paid, kiddo. You can head back to the nook now!" He quipped cheerily, followed by a thumbs up. Sam sighed reluctantly, setting the rag in her claws to her side.
"Oh, yea. Guess I forgot.. I'll get going now. See ya." she responded in a flat tone, slowly propping herself up. Frank gave a quizzical look and stopped her.
"Wait a second. What's wrong? You seem upset." he gave a worried smile, and stretched a paw out to help her up.
"Well.. I don't really..like being at the nook a lot.." she glanced away, with a dreadful look. Frank eyed her up and down, and could easily see the dread in her face. It was like the life had just been sucked out her as soon as he mentioned the nook. He thought for a minute, before getting an idea!
"Well, why don't you stay with my family and I for a little while?"
