Description
This is Feathertop, from the Nathaniel Hawthorne short story by the same name. He is a scarecrow that is transformed by a witch into a human being, and kept that way only by virtue of the magical coal in his pipe; if the pipe goes out, the illusion is destroyed.

I drew him according to the more recent adaptation into a one-act play, which is set in 1770 rather than the Puritan times, cos their clothes are more fun!
