Description
This was panel number three for the Hip-Hop Series that I was doing, which I intended to display in May. As some of us all know, that didn't work out. Over the span of the summer, I stepped up my "ink & friends" method and brought it into a more presentable level.After school started, I saw the work that I did a while back and was disgusted. Its bad, like horrible bad. There were about 3 salvagable pieces that I could probably submit as deviations and not vomit on the keyboard in a strange reaction of embarrasment. This is one of them. I submitted this more for the concept than for the rendering. I thought it was pretty cool still, and maybe one day, I'll do a better rendition so that I'll have something to hang up on my wall.

The composition & perspective on this is great man. I like characters expression and the hands are really well drawn. You got some amazing skills with paint too and the colors ya chose and the panes give depth to the pic. Keep it up

BTW, what happened to the graffiti? it's now ended up with more graphic art and less, writing

It ain't mainstream anymore, what happened to graffiti is what happening to alot of styles, it became commerialized & mimiced in a way that shames the original method. but its still alive & well. the true taggers have & are still continuing in its most artistic forms whether on walls or on more legal surfaces & they don't it just to be cool.
That character he has there looks real similiar, I can't even deny it myself. I'll ask him about it myself

yeah.... it's not the shit ass job he did at graffiti that bothers me, cuz I suck at it myself. It's not the poserish standpoint that bothers me cuz I know he's gonna get shot by some trumped up railyard king who takes things too far, it's just I hate thieves. Specially when I liked the original piece so much I decided to draw it on my notebook in paintpen and wrote the name and production date beside it

It doesn't bother me much that he did it, he didn't copy it completely. I don't think he possesses the technicial skill to mimic my work that precise, which is fine by me. If he really planned on it that way, he couldn't, besides, everybody mimics someone in some way to get better at their craft. I try not to take it personal unless they didn't add any of themselves to it. I hate that.
