Even in Unleashed, he's still ripping off Dragon Ball Z. Just a little Halloween piece before Halloween comes...Also, note that I took a picture of the moon and turned it yellow greenish (To mimic it's unusual color in the Dragon Ball series)

Note: Please note that I DON'T hate Sonic, I'm just poking fun at yet another similarity it has with DBZ. However because a lot of people don't seem to get this, I've since disabled commenting on this picture.

I get so sick of people saying stuff on how Sonic or Naruto copied Dragon ball Z (get a life f**ktards! it's not true!)

Sonic: Goes werehog at night and stays that way until the sun rises.
Saiyans: turn into mighty oozaru when they see a full moon, or a replica of the moon (I watched the fight with Vegeta, which took place during the daytime) Gohan and Goku were fine as children when they walked around at night, they'd only turn into the mighty oozaru when they'd look at the full moon.
Sonic: Needs Chaos emeralds and rings to turn into and maintain Super state
Saiyans: Need to be pure of heart and fueled by anger to unleash the Super saiyan, afterwards it becomes easily accessible. (the only thing that gets accessed by rage for Sonic is his Dark super form)

Sonic is merely an homage to Dragon Ball Z. It was created in the 80s. Sonic was created in the 90s.

Yes it is original. Sonic needs the emeralds to change and once transformed, he needs rings to stay in super sonic mode. Sayens on the other hand can change at will and as long as they have enough energy, can stay in super sayen mode for an unlimited amount of time. There is no similarity between them other than the gold hair thing. PS: shadow turns silver instead of gold.

Not to destroy the moment, since I'm a big Sonic and DragonBall Z fan, but both series were starting off at the same time. Neither Akira Toriyama or ...Crap forget his name that created Sonic knew about each other. They might have and shared ideas, but I'm sure they didn't copy off each other

And there are a lot of people who have decided with their creations, like TV show characters or Manga and Anime characters, they have a certain ability to "Power up" or "Increase Power" of some sort, so it's not all original. But Yuji and Akira did seem to have the same idea with the golden transformation, but it's not really the same. Sonic becomes gold because of the opposing color blue. Silver the Hedgehog turns a lighter gold/silver kind of opposing color. Shadow's black and red turn to different shades of bright yellow.
I do see and understand your point though. I just thought I'd throw that out there

The Super Transformations and 7 Mystical Objects I understand, but I doubt they got this from DBZ. In the Great Ape state, an untrained person loses all control, wheras Sonic's Were-transformation was Very controable. But I see what you're trying to say.

everyone knows they obviously got the idea for super sonic and the were-hog from dbz, maybe the were-hog more so just in a general nod to lycanthropy in general, but given the fact super sonic is a DIRECT rip off of super saiyan, its easy to believe this is a continuation of that concept, maybe the creators of sonic are db fans and this isnt a rip off as much as a omage, eother way, pretty sweet

I don't get it. How is this ripping off the Great Ape transformation? He's just a werewolf. He doesn't even have a tail or really look like a Great Ape because as you see, he's smaller, has different colored fur and eyes and a different design. I don't notice any other similarities other than them both transforming at night. Now the Super Transformation of Sonic when he becomes Super Sonic is obviously like a Super Saiyan. Increased powers, golden aura and hair, spikey hair and so on. And even then DBZ started sort of a parody of "Journey to the West", so they obviously took elements of other stories. That and Sonic's stories are pretty different in comparison to DBZ stories.
