Description
I mentioned a little while ago that I planned on making a section to my Neocities website involving Adventure Time: 20 Years Later. Well, now it's finally up! So I figured the best way to show it off was to make another collage like the ones I used to make for Cartoon Hangover Minus 15, which I suppose links into the style of website I was going for. Like the rest of the website, the design choice was based heavily on late-90s early-2000s Web 1.0-type websites, specifically the kinds of sites used to promote films and TV shows, with particular focus on the old BBC sub-site for Doctor Who (the 2005 revival was actually kinda like a blueprint for how I came up with this series, so this won't be the last parallel you'll hear!), as well as the many examples of designs featured in the exhibitions of the Web Design Museum , many of which remind me of my earliest memories of the internet, browsing CBeebies' and Nickelodeon's websites as a 3-5 year-old and being pulled in by everything. Even really simple things like the images on this site loading at different times reminds me of the days when internet bandwidth speeds were a little slower than they are now!To reflect that older website design, there were a couple new things I tried doing, with the most significant of these being able to add multiple links to an image, which is how I got the home and menu images to work how they did, when I previously thought the most efficient way of doing that was just by splitting an image into two separate images and giving them two different links, like I did with the CH-15 menus. Still, there are a few pages currently not done yet, like the Character Bio pages, but I'll hopefully get around to them at some point soon. I also thought of maybe adding in a fifth (or sixth if we count the home) main page about a possible tie-in video game if I ever get around to fleshing that out! I also kinda plan on doing a similar sub-website for that old Ready Player One idea I came up with a while back (which could use a re-write at some point), though I'm not really placing much focus on that as I am on my other work, "Two Worlds Collide" for my massive autistic crossover fix. That's not to say it's off the cards, but maybe a little later. Might even give one a go for Two Worlds Collide if I can find a style that works.
Oh, and here's the link to the homepage of the sub-site itself:
