I'm looking at the statistics for one of the episodes posted on Youtube (Episode 15 uploaded by PensivePony). This video has 106,810 views and according to Youtube the top three viewer groups for this video are:
Male, 25 - 34
Male, 35 - 44
Male, 18 - 24
Your age group is the second largest. You may be surprised.

On Qubo, they are showing reruns of He-Man and She-Ra cartoons. The commercials, however, are not for kids' stuff, like Count Chocula cereal. Aside from the hours they are shown, it may well be because, like My Little Pony, they were cartoons from the 1980s, and they figure that Generation X would be the biggest fans. We are now middle-aged.
So the age group actually makes sense, but the gender does surprise me. Keep in mind that I only know of the cartoons from the 1980s, not any later things, but back then it was clearly for girls.
