This is a new generation of MLP (generation 4) and it's called "Friendship is Magic". The style was created by Lauren Faust . It began airing in October 2010 and as of today (March 24, 2011) 20 episodes have aired. It airs on The Hub (TV channel owned by Discovery Communications Inc.) on Fridays at 1:30PM Eastern/10:30AM Pacific. Season 1 will have 26 episodes total and a 24 episode season 2 is scheduled to begin production in April 2011.
It's definitely worth checking out.

Twilight is often a cornucopia of knowledge, but now she's taken the idea to extremes. At least it will keep her from blabbing about any secrets she'd promised to keep. I love the look in her eyes as she struggles with her jaw being stretched so wide. You did a great job on her, and the food looks pretty tasty too (if you don't mind wiping off some Twilight Sparkle spit first
