Description
ten minute performance held at MetroArts Gallery in Brisbane. Artist consumed an entire chocolate cake and smeared it all over her body, before smashing the plate on the floor.Deals with the beauty myth in contemporary western society, and notions of the female body as abject; neither subject or object: the place where meaning collapses.

I think my comment is not CRAZY:
This is not cute, is not a good photo, is not esthetic...
But is expressive, is a Great Expressive photo, evokes things... and a goodie pic makes you think or imagine ... or sometimes like Sirectol user....
I like this, represents a performance ( I love the performances...)

based on these trashy-bashy comments from stupid people it seems like the message has been lost. consdidering all the other naked women around here (you know, the non-art ones of simply naked or semi naked bodies), you'd think this would have gone over better
i think you could improve the contrast and hue, but the message is good
(can you tell that those trashy non-art naked women really rip my ass?? its not art and yet gets *all* the attention and yet the real art gets none. people suck and are stupid ... not that i'm bitter or anything )

Bizzare. Try to get a better photo next time maybe. This one doesn't have much in the way of clarity. Kills the impact of the performance (perhaps a good thing)

I like the idea and the message, and I think you are very brave, however I think the execution could be better (photo, framing, etc).
I also believe that there is a difference between being genetically larger than the stupid social "standards" and being careless about nutrition and exercise, with a detrimental impact on health and standard of living. Having studied the subject I can assure you that the body composition of the model above (you I believe) is not simply the product of healthy nutrition and "large genes" (metabolism, bone structure). The bodyfat % is largely a consequence of poor nutrition, just as poor (in a different way obviously) as someone who is excessively skinny.
So, I am all for diversity in shapes and sizes away from stupid social standard measurements, but I am against leveraging on such argument to promote unhealthy unbalanced behaviours, be them starvation or the opposite.
Shouldn't we strive to be the best WE can be?

I'm assuming this is the OTHER performance thats on there at the moment ... I'm going to watch my brother ... I THINK his production is called "The Bald Primadonna" [ part of "Absurd-a-go-go" ? ] I THINK! ... Not sure. . .
But it was odd to see you mention MetroArts...
