Finally got around finishing my redesign for Shiru. This was long overdue.

"The Feral Border between Light and Darkness"

Bio:

Species: Arcadian* therianthrope (werewolf)
Age: Unknown (physical age resembles that of a boy in his pre-teens)
Sex: Male
Eye color: Silver
Abilities: Manipulation of twilight
Likes: Hugs, hanging out with friends, exploring
Dislikes: Condescending attitudes

Background:

It is unknown how long Shiru has resided in Gensokyo. Eye witnesses have reported seeing him doing miscellaneous things around the outskirts of the Human Village. He has interacted with a few of the main protagonists on a few random occasions, though and seems to be on somewhat good terms with them.

Personality:

Shiru is a relatively ambiverted individual. He is oftentimes friendly with people, enjoys partaking in fun activities, and is open to making new friends. Though, at the same time, he is considerate to the point where he can become very nervous and shy when he notices when others are weary of his presence; he also becomes exceedingly nervous when put on the spot as the center of attention. He enjoys helping out those in need, even when his aid is not appreciated at times.

Despite presumably being a mostly positive person, Shiru personally does not see himself in a good light. He is oftentimes harsh on himself and rarely thinks about his own well-being. Because of this, in tandem with his desire to help people, he is prone to go to extreme lengths to ensure the safety and happiness of others. Similarly, whenever he upsets someone, close friend or not, he slowly transitions into a mellowed, depressed state in which he will distance himself from others as a form of self-punishment. He usually hides these feelings with his expressions, so that those around him won't feel bad; though, this does not always work. Additionally, he is pretty much used to being pushed around by others.

Shiru also has a surprisingly heightened killing instinct, more than your average lycanthrope. Oftentimes, when the situation calls for it, his killing instinct will drive him to perform insane acts and will seldom hesitate going for the kill. His fighting skills are comparable to that of a master assassin.

Powers/Abilities:

Manipulation of twilight

Shiru has the ability to manipulate twilight, the mixed essence of light and darkness. Twilight itself is more or less a universal force, as it revolves around all that is illuminated and all that is shadowed. With this power, Shiru can manipulate the boundaries between light and darkness, as well as the very concepts of the two, which allows him to make light and darkness do things that they shouldn't be able to do like make light that can exist without a shadow, make darkness illuminate instead of darken, harm beings who are immune to light/dark attacks, open dimensional rifts, etc.

Since twilight is more or less the mixture of light and darkness, Shiru technically transcends the dual concepts in question, allowing him to control the force of neutrality, granting him a sense of balance.
