Background:

Years ago, the God of Shadow decided that the world of light was to his liking. He began a plot that would throw the world of Cartha into a state of turmoil. Raising an army from his Drow followers, he began to gain power by means of their devotion. With this new found power, He constructed a body for himself and made all preparations to enter it. He would need the blood of thousands spilled in violence to complete the transfer. His brother, the god of light heard of his plan and took action to end it before it took hold. He would be too late to stop the dark god, but he would be able to contain him after the ceremony was complete. The god's war was fought between the Drow and the other Races of Cartha who where led into the war by the High Elves. Many lost their lives and the world would never be the same. The deciding battle began in Cethed Valley and raged for weeks. Both sides took heavy casualties and the outlook was bleak. In Abyss, where The God of Shadow awaited the time his body would open up to him, he was confronted by his brother and the other gods. They fought and the God of Shadow was defeated. Just as the fatal blow was to strike, the God of Shadow was pulled through the barrier and into his body. Taking the opportunity, the god of light sealed his brother's physical body away deep within a plateau where he would remain for eternity. That was the plan at least.
Unbeknownst to the Gods, The God of Shadow chose his most powerful female soldier and implanted in her, his essence. The woman would give birth to his heir who would, if he where defeated labor to revive him. The child was born, but the warrior, Arcata knew what her son was to be. She fled with him and found a new home where she hoped he could live, safe from the harsh and brutal life of most Drow. She gave him the name Dealo and left him in the square of a small village in the Haran Islands. He was adopted by a Human family and was raised on their tradition. When, at age fifty six, he reached adulthood, the Dark god's plot took hold and he became the Reaper. A devilish apparition that seeks out the souls of the living to fuel the dark magic working away at the Shadow God's bonds. Because he was not raised under the Drow, he did not possess the will to kill for the God of Shadow, and would only be under the God's control during the night..
